Support

support@doggl.app
We usually reply within two working days. Reports about offensive content or the behaviour of other users are normally looked at within 24 hours. You’re welcome to write in English.

What helps us answer faster: the version number shown at the very bottom of Settings in the app — for example 0.3.4 (66894db) · PROD.

Even quicker from inside the app: Settings → Feedback, with a screenshot if you like.

Reporting something

Another dog’s profile photo, a name, a leaderboard row: in the app, every other dog’s profile leads to a menu with Report and Block. Blocked dogs disappear from your views and can be unblocked again under Settings → Blocked dogs.

Anything the report button doesn’t cover — a hazard report that is obviously made up, for instance — send to support@doggl.app. The rules are in the terms of use.

Deleting your account

In the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. This removes your profile, walks, cells, photos and the account itself. It cannot be undone.

If you’ve already deleted the app and can no longer get into your account, write to us. Because we store neither names nor email addresses, we need your username or your dog’s name to find the right account.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the app want location access “always”?

Because otherwise a walk ends as soon as the phone is in your pocket. The app records only while a walk you started is running — not in between, and not in the background when nothing is running.

Can anyone see where I walk?

No. The recorded route never leaves your device. Others see the cells that belong to you — hexagons with sides of roughly 35 metres — and not the line inside them. Details are in the privacy policy.

My walk wasn’t counted.

A walk has to reach a minimum distance and a minimum duration to count — otherwise a few steps out of the front door would be a walk. The app tells you at the end what was missing.

My loop didn’t close.

A loop closes as soon as your route meets a spot where you’ve already been — provided it is at least 250 metres long by then and leaves at least one cell free inside that you didn’t walk through. The same street there and back, even on both pavements, encloses nothing. With small blocks, where they fall on the grid plays a part too.

My cells are fading.

That’s decay: where nobody has been for a long time, the territory fades. Come by regularly and you keep it.

No notifications are arriving.

Two switches need to be right: the permission in the iOS settings and the scope in the app (all notifications or hazard warnings only). The app shows the current state of the permission in its settings.

I have a new phone.

Sign in again with the same Apple ID; your territory, profile, medals, walks and photos come back. What stays on the old device are the recorded routes — they were never anywhere else.

The map stays empty.

Then the app is missing either location permission or an internet connection. You’ll find both in the iOS settings under Doggl.
